What ls the Difference Between Frogs and Toads?

Both frogs and toads have long hind legs and, as adults, arc completely tailless. Frogs, however, have a moist, relatively smooth skin and are agile jumpers; toads give clumsy short hops and their skin is rough, warty and dry.

In places where there are only a few species of each, as in parts of the United States and northern Europe, it is not difficult to distinguish between the two forms, but in some regions, the line of demarkation between these two types of jumping amphibians is not so distinct. The term frog is acceptable when speaking of the frog and toad group in general.
